My Boiler

Well it was October last year and my wife was making noises about getting our boiler insured, we had just moved into the house the summer before and having lived in a flat we’d never had a boiler before. I gave my wife some line like “where do you draw the line with insurances?”, she’d only just insured the washing machine which I thought was ridiculus, “It’ll be alright” I said.

A month or two goes past then a few days before christmas I noticed all this water leaking out from unber the boiler in the kitchen, oh no.. I take the front off the boiler to see quite a noticeable drip coming from a joint. So, I eat my words. Call a local plumber and have to pay £120 an hour to get him out the day after boxing day or wait until after new year.

Four days without hot water and heating over Christmas was not amusing! The plumber came to fix the boiler, of course I had to pay extra being Christmas time. I was lucky he told me, he had the pipe that needed replacing. I was hit for £150 and that was lucky!

Soon into the new year my wife and I, (with my tail between my legs) started looking for good boiler cover, there are different plans available depending on the fuel the boiler uses, there are gas boilers and oil boilers, ours is oil and we wanted to get an insurance that includes a yearly service.

After reading lots of reviews and partly influenced by cost we decided to go with …..

The …. technician came within the first month of joining to inspect and service the boiler properly and we haven’t had any problems since. The team at … are UK based and were helpful without being salesy or pushy at all.

Although I hate insurances, this looks like one you can’t do without, its just not worth taking the risk.

Our monthly payment is just £X.XX and I’m sure a yearly service would cost more than this.

We welcome you to share your experinences and any dealings with ….
